They’re Still Lookin’ Good!
She’s beautiful … sexy … and has been a top-name singer in the UK for over forty years! She was married to the late Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, starred in and sang the title track of the movie, To Sir, With Love and, in a little over a month, will turn 60 years old (and, yes, this is a current photo)!
More importantly now, she now tops a recent British poll of “celebrities whose looks have improved with age”. But, IMHO, there’s more to Lulu than just that; she’s also one of the loveliest and most gracious personalities in the UK! No wonder Queen Elizabeth awarded her an OBE (Order of the British Empire) designation.
Funny thing, though; according to the voting, she beat out Elizabeth Hurley, Cilla Black and … Madonna?!? Ummm … did they forget that the Material Girl is, like, American or something??
Now, on the male side of things, you’d think that Rod Stewart woulda placed first (after all, the dude does look good for his age) … but he was beaten out by Mr. 007 himself, Sean … excuse me! Sir … Sean Connery!
The man is one of the most revolutionary actors to come outta Scotland (Edinburgh, to be exact), and is known for his blunt, matter-of-fact talk as much as his penchant for drinking.
Of course, The Relic woulda put McCartney up there as well … though Macca has had a touch-up before. The thing about Stewart and Bond … er, Connery … is the same as that for Lulu; they’re all natural with their looks!
Others who’ve aged well include Cilla Black, Julie Andrews, John McNally (The Searchers) and Pete Best. But since the voice of the people has spoken, the ones chosen are justified … and are definitely great looking, even at their age!
