Michael Jackson Dying? (and more …)
We’ve heard reports that androgynous superstar Michael Jackson is suffering from emphysema and a possibly fatal lung infection. We’ve seen less and less of him. Last week, the National Enquirer had a front-page teaser that said he had “Six Months To Live!”
It made some of us wonder, promotional ploy? One more shot at spotlight-grabbing? In other words, we doubted it somewhat …
but …
Why is he considering releasing his Beatles song library back to Paul McCartney (which he got by outbidding both Macca and Yoko for the rights) — which he wasn’t to release back to Paul until after his (Michael’s) death?
Does he know something we don’t? Stay tuned …
THIS “ROAD” LEADS TO HELP
Cancer Research UK has announced February 26 as the date of their annual Sound & Vision event at Abbey Road Studios in London.
Although full details haven’t been released yet, it’s gonna feature champagne and canapés, access to the recording studios where The Beatles recorded, a beautiful exhibition (and auction) of images featuring famous musicians by equally-famous photographers, a chance to buy a piece of music history in a live auction, live performances, and celebrity guests.
Patrons of the event include legendary Beatles producer George Martin and Whispering Bob Harris. Last year, it raised over £160,000 for vital cancer research with live performances by Beverley Knight, 10cc and The Brand New Heavies. Also, it auctioned off items such as a Rickenbacker guitar designed and signed by R.E.M’s Peter Buck and handwritten lyrics from Bryan Ferry.

Man, I’ve heard of things bein’ sold on eBay©, but this one takes the prize for the weirdest …
If you remember, back in 2007 the son of J. P. “Big Bopper” Richardson had his father’s body exhumed and, after viewing and visiting with it for awhile, had it autopsied and re-buried in a new coffin (huh?? Awwww, somethin’ about the possibility of gunfire on the plane that killed Bopper, Buddy Holly and Richie Valens).
Well, now Junior’s decided to put his dad’s old casket up for grabs on the web’s mega-auction-block!
The thing is, nobody knows how to price it, much less what a person’s gonna do with it!
Well, I guess it can be said: Now I’ve seen it all …
