The HoF’s 25th Anniversary
IN THE NEWS: Well, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame has confirmed two 25th Anniversary concerts with some of the greatest legends of rock and soul slated!
The gigs are set for October 29 and 30 at Madison Square Garden in New York (not Cleveland, where the Hall is located).
You’ll have Bruce Springsteen, a reunited Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon doing a solo set, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Stevie Wonder on the first night — quite a lineup, especially for fans of classic rock.
But the second night’s gonna have Eric Clapton, Aretha Franklin, Metallica and U2.
Now, other acts are being added as you read this, so it’s gonna get even bigger! And HBO will film both concerts for viewing later during the year (or at the top of 2010).
Tickets go on sale July 27 for American Express card holders and August 3 for the general public.
ON THE STREET: Everybody’s talkin’ about what President Obama said last night at the news conference. Listen … basically, it was in three parts: The insurance is unaffordable because the doctors are padding everything (remember his reference to multiple tests by different specialists, but the orders and paperwork lag behind?), and Medicare won’t be cut or hurt.
Still, it’s enough to get everyone rattled a bit over here …
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE: Comin’ outta the office today was a gas (or, I wish it was just that and nothing more) as I found a little catastrophe waiting for me to step in … and slide … down … fifteen … steps …). Yeah … it was the big K-Cat (pictured, right).
But I couldn’t help laughing … because, after all, it was a catastrophe … a … cat’s - ass - trophy ...
Just wish he’d awarded it to someone else …
